Hi My name is Nicki. I am a new chicken owner. I came into owning chickens accidently. My boyfriends nephew, who lived with us, had a few chickens and when he moved he could not take them with him. He asked if I would like to keep them and I said I would. Needless to say I became addicted and my chicken math got the best of me. I went from the 5 chickens given to me by my nephew 4 months ago to now having 23. I have 3 americauna's, 1 cream legbar, 3 australorp's, 1 speckled sussex, 1 ISA Brown and 1 dominique that are all laying chickens. Then I have 4 cinnamon queens that are 14 weeks old, 4 easter eggers that are 11 weeks , 2 buff opington's that are 11 weeks, 2 starlight green eggers that are 10 weeks, and 1 Rhode Island Red that is 10 weeks.
My favorite thing about my chickens is when I come out to the run each morning and every evening after getting home from work and as I am walking toward the run and I say good morning girls and watching them all come running and then hearing them all start squacking at me.
I also have 3 cats and 2 dogs. I found BYC on facebook and have joined it to find any and all information that I may need when I have questions about anything.
Oh and of course every single one of them are named.
