Ducks are a lot of fun. If you have kids and nieces or nephews also they will love them and want to see them often. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
For the dogs...
It seems to me with a lot of animals but not necessarily all of them, you can introduce them to each other in supervised sittings and then ramp up slowly. I'm not reccomending you do it yet until you feel its right, but you can start with supervised say 10 minutes. Then the next day 15, and then twice a day and then just keep adding however many minutes you can do until they acclimate.
I've done this with acclimating new ducks to other ducks. I haven't tested it much with dogs to be honest, but it should work, if you are there to control it and prevent anything b ad from happening. But some people have theories that animals will accept other animals infants. I don't know if this theory will check out, but its interesting to consider. But also depends on if the dogs hunting instincts are already in there or activated etc.
