Hi! New here. I have had poultry most of my life, and that of our kids. There is nothing that teaches dependability like animals who depend on you.

Welcome to BYC! What type of incubator do you have?
An off-brand Chinese model my husband gave me off Amazon. Don't ask me to write the trail of consonants that company chose for its brand name!!! Someday I want one made in America. Sigh. Love hubs. :) The machine seems very responsive and quick to stabilize after opening it. It automatically stopped turning the eggs two days ago. The candling seems to indicate the incubation went well until the weekend at least. As of the last candling last weekend, all the embryos looked the same size, also the air pockets, and we could see movement inside some of the eggs. It seems that the air pockets were not as big as I expected from what I see online. The incubator may be keeping itself too wet. If we have poor results this time I will put in a thermometer next time to verify readings, and lower the humidity. The learning curve is real!!!

It's almost imperative to get a separate thermometer/hygrometer to check as incubators are rarely correct. Many of us got Govee brand you can find on Amazon and they usually have a few models on sale.

Your humidity shouldn't be higher than 50% right now, until lockdown that is the last three days of incubating, and then stop the turner and raise the humidity up between 65-70%.
