we live in santa cruz, CA and are trying to learn everything we can about raising chicks! my son is 7 (in the picture w/the blue silkie) and I just got 10 month-olds and their mom, some full blood bantams and some mixed. we also have one RIR, the last survivor of a nasty stream of predators over this spring and winter. everything wants to eat chickens!!
anyways, looking forward to figuring out who is a rooster and who is a hen and deciding what to do about it, upgrading our coop and run situations, learning food and water tips, possibly chicken entertainment/toys (!), and to be delighted and surprised by all the info and friends we find here
