Hi, Starting a back yard flock for the second time.

Welcome to BYC!
:yesss: We are glad you joined our flock!
Does your 4H have a website?
My local 4H only does meat birds. You should contact yours to see what their rules/guidelines are.
This video will help you learn how to navigate this site:

BYC has an APP

My kids are joining the local 4H club and want to breed there own flock. Would love some guidance on 4H requirements.

Thanks
It's been almost 2 decades since DD and I were 4-H-ers.
I don't remember too many requirements except each club has their own little policies. The first club we joined was hosted at a local Church. I year after we joined, they had a new director whom changed the policy to only Church members were allowed in the group and they kicked several of us out and swept us away:rolleyes:. Although it had a positive outcome:). We found another 4-H group to which the rules were entirely different. A really nice group of friendly people.
It's kinda like the cub scouts/girl scouts, pay your dues and have a great time doing new and exciting things.
But warned.. 4-H is the gateway to chicken/livestock math. We started with a handful of show birds back then and now almost 20 yrs later I have as many birds as a Tyson Factory:gig
Welcome to BYC & 4-H!

In California 4-H is run by the UC Ag extension. There is a class with a leader, a book and records to keep.
