Just introducing myself, I’m a new chicken keeper and I know there is so much knowledge and support here.
I am in a suburb of Southern California and no one I know has chickens or is interested (but they have all inquired about extra eggs lol).
I am busy reading threads and trying to build my knowledge base, my girls are 10 weeks old now and I bought them at TS at 1 week old supposedly. I only knew I wanted egg chickens.
I am doubting some of the info on breeds they gave me a little but since I know so little still it is just suspicion.
Supposedly I have RIR and silver laced Wyandot but there is an awful lot of variation out of the 5 wyandots lol. We shall see. Oh, and I am so hoping my favorite and biggest RIR is a hen. I can’t keep her if she isn’t and she is so sweet. I had no idea just how much joy these critters would give me…
