I live in Gettysburg, PA and I visit this site often. I just started raising chickens this year. What a hoot (or do I mean cluck??)! LOL! I have an older bird donated to me and 7 chick that we bought at a feed store. The older chicken has so much personality. I've heard that about chickens but I didn't realize how prevalent their personality would be. The older chicken is a big chicken! She is afraid of the chicks and complains...,.whew, does she complain. But my husband picks her up and she starts to purr. I'm loving doing this! Even my 13 year old gets angry if I let the chickens out in the morning. She informs me that it is HER job! And that is saying a lot to have a 13 year old getting up to take care of pets. Thanks for all the great information available. I'm off to ask a question about chicks...
