I just joined BYC and am anxious to see if anyone can help me. I live in SA Texas and have several chickens, some rescued dogs and 2 geese. I grew up around all kinds of critters and love them all. Looking forward to talking with you guys.

I have 2 Chinese Geese I bought as tiny babies at the feed store back in Feb. They have grown into 2 beauties. I bought them a small child's pool when they got big enough to use it. They keep it in a total mess! It has gotten too small for them. My son in law is wanting to build them a pond to play in. My question is how would we keep the water somewhat clean? Does anyone have any ideas on a filtering system? Any ideas will be appreciated so much.

you could go to "Other backyard poultry" forum and post on the geese section - they may have good advice for you. If you could add an aerator to keep the water moving it may at least keep the water from getting stagnant.

Hi there Quailkeeper. I'm new and trying to get the hang of this. Any info will be appreciated.
I do know though that if you have running water, it doesn't get AS dirty. I raise ducks along with chickens and quail and that is the conclusion I have come to.
