Hello - my husband and I have raised a small flock of chickens over the past 30 years. Just this year the new chicks contracted Mareks disease.

Thank you all. We are investigating ordering from a hatchery (Chesapeake farm and poultry hatchery) where we can get them vaccinated for the Marek's in ovo. We'll have to disinfect the coop as much as possible before introducing the new chicks, but articles I've read say they should do fine even if trace amounts of the virus are present, as long as they're vaccinated.

Did you cull the flock affected by Marek's? If not, they will continue to shed the virus.
