Hi, wondering how to get my ducks to lay!

Hi, I'm new here and was wodering how to get my pekin duck to lay,
I have 1 drake and 1 hen. Should I put a white plastic egg in the nest?
I have one if needed. Please help.

You may want to post your question on the duck threads (Other Backyard Poultry) forum. I don't know how young ducks start laying or if it is mostly a seasonal thing. Welcome to the flock, hope eggs are in your near future.

Just so happens my duck was laying all ready, but I didn't know because
the eggs were buried under the pine shavings!
