Hi! I’m semi new to raising chickens. I live within the city limits and can have my six fluffy butts ( but no rooster) and I had chickens in the past (about seven years ago )but kind of winged it then and now I really kind of want to learn how to raise them properly and make sure my birds are healthy and happy. Any advice provided is greatly appreciated. I just went with what my grandmother taught me and that’s probably not the best ways anylonger. So updated advice is much appreciated and welcomed. Also those darn rats …I felt I covered all the coop and run with hardware cloth but still they’re getting in. Ugh. Anywho…nice to meet y’all!!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens.. Rats are huge problem. I buy snap traps from Amazon load them with peanut butter they work great. Good luck.
