I am new to chickens. My 9 year old daughter decided she wanted to collect her own backyard eggs and the research began. It has been almost 4 months and I am amazed at how much I now know about chickens. We have built an amazing coop, which we found on this site, and can not wait to be able to use it. We've been Anxiously awaiting our new additions and they arrived today.
We received 4 extra chicks and there are a few that we are unsure of the breed. One of them arrived with a broken leg. I am unsure what to do with this sweet baby.my daughter is convinced she can nurse it back to health and it can make it on one leg. I however do not want it to suffer. It is lively and hobbles around. It drank very well and is eating however it has to be brought to food/water. It will however get itself back under the lamp. Unsure?!?!? The others are doing great and they're very entertaining to watch.
We are looking forward to this new adventure and are grateful for this fantastic site to help us navigate.
