I've learned a great deal reading here and really admire everyone willing to share their experiences. I decided to post below since I had a question regarding the lock down. This is my first hatch, I have 6 ready to hatch on Saturday and am very excited. I have an Americana Rooster and a White Leghorn Roo, as well as an assortment of backyard chickens including White leghorns, Americana's, barred Rocks and Buff Cochins and Black Cochins. Just my chickens to keep the flys down in my horse barns. I had a coop built this year with a big yard for them, and most free range during nice weather (bad winds and rains now) so thought I'd have some fun and finally hatch some in the house. None of my hens are broody yet, so thought this would be fun. I can use all the help I can get (and encouragement)
