Hi everyone! I'm from Oregon, and I have been raising chickens for three years, and loving every minute of it. I am so excited to be a member on here, and can't wait to get acquainted with you all, and talk chicken. :)

Hi, welcome to BYC!

You'll find plenty of chicken chat happening here, as well as lots of information and helpful members. What breeds of chickens do you have?

Nice to have you here!

Nice to have you join us. What breeds to you have? Not only can you talk chickens here but, we can talk chicken, "bawk, bawk, bawk, ba gawk!!!" Welcome to BYC.

Thanks everyone! :) I have 4 Rhode Island Reds,1 bantam Frizzle,1 Black Sex-link, 2 Ameraucanas,6 Silkies, 2 White Leghorns, and I have 1 Cuckoo Maran. Then I have many mixed breeds, which consist of silver-laced and brown-laced polish mixed with all of the above breeds. I have about 30 chickens of my own right now, but I just hatched around 30 or more chicks with my hens for some people that want them. So I have quite a few little fluffballs running around everywhere. :) <3

I see where I forgot to give you a link to your state thread just in case you would be interested in saying hello to the members that are more local to you:

The state threads can be helpful for talking about your type of weather issues, swap meets, good vets close by, etc.

See you around the boards!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a nice mix of breeds. Black Sex Links are my personal favorites as they are very friendly and hardy, egg laying machines. I raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 large, brown eggs per hen per year. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
