Hi there! I'm new to this site and new to chicken keeping! I just purchased a house and when the seller found out I wanted to get chickens she asked if I wanted the 4 that were already there! So I have 4 girls, I believe 1 is a Rhode island Red and the other three are Orpingtons? They are golden and beautiful 
Many ages ago I attended Penn State and received a degree in animal science but that was the last time I worked with chickens so I need all the help I can get! They are adults, currently laying but only getting 2 eggs per day so I wonder if someone is holding out LOL! I have been involved with animals my whole life, currently work as a pet nutrition consultant for Hill's but have also worked in the veterinary field - all small animal though. no chickens tho I found this site in my quest for knowledge and look forward to perusing the site and learning all I can to help give my girls the best lives they can get!
