Hi I am Spring! I live in Southwest Idaho, I am from Alaska and was not raised around livestock, I am a vegetarian and raise my girls for their eggs, I only have a silkie rooster and he doesn’t seem to get the job done so we keep him around. I have 13 ducks too, few different breeds. My chickens are a variety of breeds too! I love to learn about anything I can. So I read lots of forums. My chickens are somewhat tame they come for treats and I let them come for love when they want, they are free range and I let them do their thing, but they still eat out of my hand. I just love all birds and am so excited that I can keep some on my property as company!

Welcome! I am new too - both to Backyardchickens.com and to chicken raising. I'm in NW Oregon and have been in awe of how wonderful this site is. Everyone is so helpful and giving. I know you will love the community! Sounds like you are jumping right into the whole livestock thing. :) It's addicting...at least I am finding it so with chickens. Welcome!
