Hello,
I am a new member.
I have been looking after chickens for almost 14 years just to provide fresh eggs on the breakfast table. Fresh eggs in pancake are delicious as it gives a nice rich yellow color.
Unfortunately in 2018 when I moved house my 3 hens and a rooster got killed by neighbor's dogs due to weak fencing.
Now I have a rooster and 3 hens though one is still young.
My two hens started to lay eggs together around the same time. The other one got bossy and has been sitting on all the eggs around 20. She hatched the first 9 and another one but due to rain getting into the 10 eggs she abandoned them for two days. Last night I put them all in a small box under a globe light.
I am thinking of candling them tonight.
The first lots of chicks are doing fine as I am looking after them in a box and feeding them.
When I have questions I always check on google for answers and most of my query is always answered so I am happy to join Backyard Chickens for more inspiration.
Thanks alot
