Hi, one of our young roosters is being picked on constantly and even stay alone or hide from the flock. Would someone please educate me on this? He was born with the group. Not sure why he’s not being accepted.

I saw this a little when we introduced some hens to our very young cockerel when we first got him.

Im no expert but i just made sure there was plenty of feeding sites to limit competition and there was tons of space for him to get away.

He is still a bit shy of them after a week but stands his ground come perching time and muscles his way to the top rung.

How old are these birds, in weeks or months?
Is he the only male?

We have at least 5 roosters including dad. They’re about 6 months old.
Why so many?
Multiple males create an environment of competition,
which means fighting and dominance.
How many females do you have?
You really only need one male, and only if you want to hatch out the flocks eggs.
