I just found this chicken forum through Google. I have 5 beautiful black girls that have red brown accent feathers aound their necks. We had 6 but our neighbors dog ate one...so now they have to stay in their run. All 5 just started laying and are so friendly. The reason I joined was to find out more about heating the coop during severe weather. I have 1 husband, 7 granddaughters, 1 dog and a cat. We also garden, sell tomato and pepper plants in the spring from our greenhouse and have inside craft hobbies for the winter months. Glad to meet a group that likes their chickens too. Beth
