my brother and i just got 5 new chickens over the summer. we have a golden laced wyndotte, spekled sussex, americuana, and a barnyard mix rooster. the fifth chicken that we had was a delaware but a dog attacked her and killed her and the dog almost killed my spekled but she got away with just a few tail feathers missing. the dog (our neighbors dog from down the road) slipped in through the wire
were a lose nail was connecting it to the coop(we put another nail in the loose spot and made sure the the rest of the nails were tight),and it was really depressing for my brother because it was his favorite chicken that was killed. on the bright side we have gotten three new chicks, another delaware, a gold star and a light brahma. we are very excited for our new additions.

from Ohio. So glad you joined. Good luck with your chicks. If that dog comes back in your yard I would let the neighbor know that if their dog kills another bird of yours, they will be held accountable.
