oh.. here and there
Married couple joining the forum together under the same username. My name is Fred and my Wife's name is Terra. We have 2 Kitties, 2 Dogs, and as of right now 1 young chicken. We've had chickens on and off over the years and decided that we would like to make them a permanent addition to our family. We hope to get to know many of you and look forward to years of fun with our chickens! Our avatar is the picture of our new family member, who is named Eggatha Crispy

For your best chance of find local birds, post in your area thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread Also try the BYC Buy-Sell-Trade forum, you can post a Want Ad after you have 20 posts. www.backyardchickens.com/f/67/buy-sell-trade there are also threads for most breeds, you could post on them, maybe there is a breeder or somebody who knows of birds in your area ie here is the main cochin thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/195235/cochin-thread there are individual threads for colors, sizes etc for them also if you have something specific in mind (Orpingtons are another breed you might consider, they are clean legged but fluffy).

Thank you for the tips. I will investigate to see what I find.

wanted to post another pic of our Eggy. we sadly may never know what breed she is, since the people who have her parents have no idea what breed the parents are. all we know for sure is that she is brown with black flcks and is the most opinionated bird we have ever encountered!
