Hello! I'm Holly. I am new to raising chickens. My husband and I live in Vermont and live on his family property. My MIL raises layers, but has never raised birds for meat. In my research I have used this forum as a place to find my answers and finally decided to join. I currently have 65 meat birds (and 6 turkeys). I still have so many questions and look forward to reading threw post! Thanks!

I have only raised egg layers with my MIL. This is new to me, doing it solo with no help. I love those birds. We (the farm) have 4 Rhode island red, 6 barred rock, and 2 Easter eggers. We have a barred rock roo and a white lace bantam roo. My kids enjoy gathering the eggs!
