hey there guys! I’m in a bit of a prickly situation, we just got a chicken today and we let her out into the yard to make herself at home, and she’s now gone and hidden under a row of bushes! It’s impossible to chase her out and I’m really worried that a snake will get her or a larger bird of prey :( she’s quite young and doesn’t trust us yet, so there’s no way she’ll eat from our hands. I’m really worried that she’ll fall asleep under the bushes and another animal will take her out!

Please give any suggestions!

Unable to reach her, or unable to FIND her? If you can see her, but just can't get to her, you could perhaps 'build' a chicken wire fence / hardware cloth fence (or other suitable items to create a barrier or enclosure for her, for now... nothing permanent... and then, as she settles down, or as night falls... calmly fetch her out of there.

An extendable fishing net, two if you have enough people to use them. They are indispensable to have on hand if you have chickens. We have two extendable fishing nets.

I suggest that you get someone with a long pole to flush her out...and have someone/two people ready with the fishing nets. Most chickens will run along a building or fence. Usually, the chicken will run right into the net. The netting is light enough not to hurt a chicken and the extendable pole allows you a much greater range to catch the chicken, it's easier on you and success rate of catching a loose chicken is very high. I hope you can catch her to keep her safe. :)

we know where she is, but we can’t reach her of find exactly which bush she’s under. But thank you for your suggestion, I’ll try it out!
I was thinking like the bushes are in a row...lol. I wonder if spraying with a water bottle could coax her out. I've never tried it, just thinking out loud. :)

She really doesn’t want to come out! I’m very worried as she’s been in there all night, we did she her this morning and tried to get her out but to no avail. She hasn’t eaten or drunk anything for a while and I’m starting to get very worried and upset! :(

You only have one chicken?
Do you have a coop and run?
Once you get a hold of her, lock her in the coop and run for a week to 'home' her.
