Is there such a thing? I want some white eggs, but I'm not sure if there is a breed out there that will be more subordinate in the flock. I have some very sweet chickens (and some silkier on the way, God willing) and would like a white * layer for the flock that has high egg production. Should I just stick with my brown egg layers?

*What's up with that, phone?

A California white is probably your best bet, they lay a white egg and are pretty chilled out birds. High production as well! If high production wasn't a priority I would suggest a Polish, they are as relaxed as they come.

We have an Austra White (Leghorn x Australorp) and she lays white eggs and produces very well (5+ eggs a week). She is one of my favorite girls and is very friendly. Not a lap chicken but has a ton of personality. I plan on getting more since I enjoy having some white eggs in the basket and I really like her personality and egg laying ability.
