I simply can believe no one answered you on how to tell if they are female.
All Muscovies squeak and hiss
all mallard drakes are nearly silent
Therefore if the quack they are female.

Not necessarily correct. All the mallard/Muscovy crosses that I ever raised squeaked like muscovies. As ducklings they had coarser voices but as they matured, they 'talked' like muscovies.
