Hi all, nice forum.
I am married with 4 kids and have just got 4, 4 week old Dutch bantom chicks in a 10 square run and a small garden shed for them to roost in.
Tomorrow I pick up 1 x 10 week sussex white chicken (I think thats what it is called) and 1 black..rock is it?? chicken I can't remeber the full name, also 10 weeks.
The chicks are loving all that space as the run is not bare but full of trees and shrubs, all them nooks and crannys for them to hunt down insects. The chicks are very small but probably the safest chicks in the world, the run being housed in my garden were our 3 lurcher patrol, believe me no cat would dare enter, and the run is netted at the top incase of sparrow hawk.
I kept chicken many moons ago when I was achild I even bred a few. I think they are the perfect thing for my kids to learn about thing like the birds and the bees with.
Fingers crossed I get on 1 cockeral, but I bet I will get more.
