i have been calling the hens free-loaders for months now. no eggs nada. well my feeder holds 4 days of feed, so since thier not laying there is no need to go in the coop.. so this morning while doing chores, i hear the egg song .. this is the 3rd morning in a row i have heard it. SO i decide i better go check.. not like im gonna find anything anyways!

so i look.. nothing in the nest boxes.. figures.. i go to check the 2 roos that are in solitary... turn around and see 2 eggs on the ground out of the corner of my eye! YAY! im grinning FINALLY! eggs i walk over to pick those two up and BAM behind the metal barrel that i keep the feed in , is a HUGE pile of eggs!!! HOLY COW!! there are 28 eggs to be exact LOL i love it finally fresh eggs! im stilll in shock! lol

Lol this happened to us and our neighbor!! I was walking outside and I looked over and as you said BAM eggs, pick those up look Bam more and it repeated and repeated until we had 51 eggs!!!!
My neighbors eggs I found, she needed help finding something (cant remember what) and I looked under their shed and smiled a big smile. I said

" Dawn, youve been missing eggs lately right?"
" Yeah we havent gotten any in quite a while now"
" Ummmm take a look"

i have 15 laying hens... most are RIR and leg horns.. with a few polish cross lol

but i have a lot more chicks broodin LOL

my laying hens are in lockdown for that reason. I find eggs behind the rose bushes, by the gate, anywhere but the nest boxes.

Wow, that's one heck of a find! Here I am waiting on my very first, singular, measly little egg. I still have 2.5 months.
