Hi BYCers-

I am new to BYC and to chickens. I researched out raising and keeping chickens and a month and a half ago brought 11 baby chicks home.

I have:
1 dark brahma (named Griffon)
1 buff brahma (named Sunny)
3 red stars (named Fluffy, Peaches and Browny)
1 golden laced wyandotte (which I suspect is a rooster named Lacy)
3 easter eggers (named Cotton, Tuft and Tatters)
1 australorp (named Midnight)
1 plymouth barred rock (named Bacon- he was named by my husband- he's so pratical!)

I am excited to be a part of BYC and learn a lot from all of you.

Sounds like you have a nice mix for your starter flock.... be warned though... chickens are addicting and within a year or two 'chicken math' will set in and you'll be planning additions to coops and runs! Then there are extra brooders to build, incubators, grow out pens....

Check out the forum section for 'where am I, where are you?' and find an area close to you for fellow chicken enthusiasts, it is great to find others close by who can fill you in on local events, sales, shows, etc.
