SO came home to an fun find We got these 3 silkie hens (1 years old) about 3 weeks ago.
we get 1 egg a day normally- from charlotte the partrdge who is my fat gorgeous girl. since the coop has opened she always lays up in it (not n the nest box- but n the coop)
Sometimes we get to eggs. the 2nd is always down n the run.
Today i came home to two eggs n the run- seperated by a foot or so. And emily- my black silkie up in the corner of the coop where charlotte always lays hers she was busy pecking at the shavngs and puttng them on her back (Odd??) The other chooks were on their way up to the coop. Emily got up and there ws an egg under her. now 'm assuming the egg is charlottes because layng n the run is ooh so beneath her. Emily is always the first to go to bed in the coop and ths would be the first time there's been an egg at bedtmie (usually t's out before then)
Also the two eggs ni the run are quire pourus- and the one almost has red/bloody color on it- in small streaks inside the pourous texture.... the two other silkie girls (Emily and victoria) did not come in the same condition charlotte did and do not lay many eggs (untl today i wsn't sure all 3 were layng as the 2 eggs a day has only happened 2x n the last 3 weeks
