Hi! I noticed that our runner duck, Ed, has two small holes in the webbing of her foot. She is unbothered by them, she's walking normally and the holes appear to be healing (or healed?). I did check the bottom of her foot and everything else seems to be normal. Are the holes a concern? Will they eventually close or will they be there forever? Any idea on what could have done this? We have two other ducks and their feet are normal.
Thanks so much!!

I have a runner duck and she does not have these issues. If the holes seem to be closing up then I would just keep an eye of them and if they seem to be open wounds make sure it's clean and try to avoid infection. I have never seen holes in the webbing so I'm sorry, but I have no clue what could've caused it.

I don't think the webbing will ever fully close up, but it looks to be healed. The foot webbing isn't super thick and getting small punctures does happen fairly often in waterfowl. She could have stepped on something like a stick, a piece of wiring, a nail, or something else entirely. As long as she's healthy and walking fine I wouldn't worry about it.
