Sparks has it right. It's a quilted wall hanging. About 2 x 3 feet

Yes it's a chicken. Although a coworker is insisting it's a peacock. (She's a little weird). It does have peacock feathers on the backing.

The artist had several others fish, wine, food parrots, and did beautiful work on them all. She had another chicken made with more earth tones, but it had no border and I fell in love with the jewel tones.

It is a gorgeous wall hanging. Way to go Imp! It looks like a rooster to me.
