Home made dog food?

I think cats need a higher protein ratio..

Just popped in here to add my recipe for doggie treats

Cook one pound of liver in a pot with some water..
Mash thoroughly..

Cool, add 1 cup cornmeal, and 1 cup corn starch..
Spread out onto pizza pan or large cookie sheet..

Score with knife into small peices.

Bake at medium-low heat till totally dry and crunchy..Break into bite sized peices, and store..

I actually keep mine in a glass jar out of the fridge..But to be safe..I'd probably suggest keeping it in the fridge or freezer till the day you use it.

This last time I added garlic because it is supposed to help with the fleas..

From what I have read on the web, cat food is quite different from dog food, per the nutrition needed for cats. Most folks recommend to not make homemade cat food.

My dog loves bites of cheese and fruit for his treats. I swear he can hear me peel a banana from the living room! When I am out of his food, I fix him a cooked egg and toast for breakfast. He also has some dry kibble during the day.

If you want to make food for cats you can, it is different and higher in protein. I have a book, Dr. Pitcairns guide to naturally healthy dogs and cats. It has vet approved recipies for making both dog and cat food, as well as some recipies for sick animals and ones on special diets homeade kitten formula etc. Good basic vet care info. This book has been around for years and is likely still avail at Barnes and Noble or for check out at your library. I use it all the time.
