Hello everyone, as many of you I am sure have had the issue of finding a home for that chick that turned out to be a rooster. Honestly I never considered that daughter let alone myself were going to become so attached to our chickens. So far we have had two of our babies become roosters. We were fortunate that the breeder took back our Silky baby, but we have a Silver Lace Wyandotte. He hasn't started crowing yet and is 5 months old. His saddle feathers are very apparent so we are quite sure it is a rooster. I know some have suggested eating him but we honestly can't consider eating something that we have raised. If you can give him a home please let me know. I am in the Navarre area.

Heads up. Try posting ads on Facebook in the buy sale trade for your area? Or contact a local farmer? Even going to farmers markets or posting flyers in family owned stores and feed stores.
2 of my 3 males needed removing and when I posted free cockerels I had a lady immediatly come get them for her flock!
Just puts ads out. The thing about roosters is alot of people don't eat them(some do), alot of people actually want them for breeding/protection of flock.
If I wasn't so far away I'd take him! Good luck.
