The concern with asking about animals is liability in case the animals in some way cause harm to another in which they would have to pay a claim.  That said, I have never had insurance personnel ask anything about animals whatsoever.

That's lucky!

My close friend in Hot Springs, AR was given a list of dog breeds that would make her homeowner's insurance go up. A German Shepherd or Rottweiler would be more expensive than a Border Collie or a Lab.

I'll be shopping for homeowner's insurance soon, when we get our fixer-upper fixed up. Hopefully, animals won't be asked about in the boonies of south-central AR!
