Homebrew spent grains?

My husband owns a production brewery, I'm wondering if the spent grains from the mash would be ok to use as food for my chicks?

As a part of their feed, they're great. They're lacking in a few amino acids and other nutrients, so not so good as a sole ration. A lot of people (including me) use them as a component of the overall chicken feed.
