Like most people, I got sick of changing the water in the brooder every day, and the mess, so today I decided to do something about it. I've seen the thread-in style poultry nipples for sale for building large waterers(I just ordered 20 from Mr. peeps for in my coop), but I wanted to try something small for the brooder..
The first test run was to take rabbit water bottle, and hang it from a string, and while it worked(my 2 week old chicks learned almost instantly), it was a pretty crude looking setup, and rather unsecure.
Today I bought a second bottle, and fabbed up a pair of adjustable mounts, with a range of 2-10" off the floor of the brooder. Pretty simple, and seem to work quite well.
