homemade bator cirulation ?

my homemade bator is having trouble with air temps not being the same all over the bator. i have a computer fan inside but the temps are different from one side to another and in the middle. why isn't it the same with the fan? i feel air moving all around the bator. its hard to keep the air temp on the eggs at 99.5 because its different everywhere in there.

How many an how big are the vents?

Probably need incubator pictures to really be able to help.

3 1inch dia. holes. i have only 1 closed now because with 2 closed the humidity is too high. it runs around 70% with 2 closed and 55 % with 1 closed.

Is the fan mounted at least an inch from the wall of the incubator so it can pull air in the back and push it out the front?

its wrapped in hardware wire 1/4 x1/4 so its about 1.5 inches from the wall.
