Homemade chicken feed

Looking to save money while feeding our chickens! They are currently just chicks but im a planner... how can I feed my hens for when they're older and off chick starter!

I find it cheaper to buy a good premade ration. Unless you are using lots of feed it isn't economical to mix your own, and store it. If you feed a higher protein ration, 20-22%, than you can feed more extras, like scratch and scraps, which cuts the feed bill a bit.
