I am envisioning feeding small flock of chickens: layers and fryers. I am brand new to all this. I could tractor feed them for about 4-5 months a year, as long as they had nightly coop. Rest of the year is cold and snow. I feel in the future I will not have access to anything I cannot grow or provide from table scraps. Short growing season, so no corn, wheat, but could do quinua and amarinth in greenhouse. Any ideas?javascript:insert_text('

Do you not even have access to a grain/feed mill that could make feed for you? It is a tricky thing to make, because you have to balance everything out. You can't have to much protein, but you have to have enough. That in combination with vitamins, fat, etc...

If you still feel that you absolutely need to make your feed, here's a site for you. http://www.lionsgrip.com/recipes.html

Welcome
