I probably would do the same, just because it seems like more potential for fun colored chicks! I would try treating for wry neck.. I think it’s vitamin B2 (not B12) and vitamin E?

Well these chicks are now starting to have chicks of their own! First batch should be hatching within a week!

We kept Cloudy as our rooster (white silkie) so all the chicks will be “partly cloudy” ️ lol. I’m so curious to see how they turn out and if any end up with his strange tick:

Update! The flock has officially procreated! We woke up to 3 chicks on Wednesday morning (out of 6 eggs)! So cuteeee!!

Meet Boba, Butters, and Baby Linky!!


(Linky named after my son’s favorite chick which turned out to be a rooster we had to get rid of and he was devastated - remember? ).

I was so nervous about the flock’s possible reactions but the chicks came (jumped/fell) out of the nest just fine yesterday as I was watching and all the flock did great!



There were 2 eggs still left in the nest and I also found a chick body.

I put the remaining 2 eggs under the other hen I gave the 5 less developed eggs to. She’s still in the old coop and doing great now sitting on 7 eggs.



It’s been a fun few days! The kids are egg-static!
