Homestead Duck & Goose Feed PICTURES ADDED!!

Well, I got a couple of little ducks...they are 3 days old. It was a surprise, someone gave them to me and you know me, I couldn't resist. THEN, I panicked, because all I have is the Homestead that I give to my adult ducks. And Medicated chick starter. HELP!!! What should I do? By the way, they are darling little ducks.

HI! Congratulations on your new little ducks. Do you know what kind they are? I looked up Homestead feeds and it says that Homestead Duck & Goose Feed can be fed from hatch until maturity. So you should be fine. I would check the protien levels, just to be sure, I think you need 18-20% for the first 3 weeks, and then you need to start droping it down, otherwise it can lead to developmentle problems. Some people do this by a get adding some rolled oats to the feed they are already using. Get some duck books asap! And enjoy your babies!!

Thank you. I am going to give them small amounts of the homestead. The little buggers are eating way to fast, not stopping to drink!! Scared me to death. My other 10, now grown, never acted this way. As far as what the breed is, I'm not certain, but, I am thinking part runner. They are so cute, I will try to get some pictures loaded of them soon. Right now I have got to get back to taking care of the babies!!
