It seems like every homestead website out there has an article about chicken breeds, and they're all in competition to see who can make me roll my eyes first!

Frankly, most things pitched at "homesteaders" are laughably inaccurate or a sales pitch.

Very good point.
Perhaps the same reason people who make these tiny chicken coops at big box stores have no business attempting the task as they clearly know almost nothing about the denizens they are supposedly housing.
I'm not sure some of them even know much about carpentry.
