Homing Pigeon Newby.

Greetings All,
I am new to the hobby. I have 18 pigeons and learning so much. My pigeons were in the loft since the 1st of June. Today while working in the loft late afternoon 1 of my pigeons flew out of the mm open door. He came and landed on the roof twice but never came back home? Is he gone, will he be back?

If he was a young bird and not settled in another loft, he may come back. If he was settled in another loft, he has probably returned there. Hope that he returns.

I hope for your sake he makes it back. Honestly their are too many variables to predict accurately. Keep us posted I will be following the out come best of luck Yendor777. From what you said I think he will return.

Hey there guys, my beauty has returned, sitting on the roof right and I don't know what to do. The hatch is open and I have been teaching her to go in a few times.

One thing you did right was to let only one bird out.
In future I would let your birds out 12 hours after they have eaten.
Then you have the fact that there are two factors calling your bird home hunger and fellow loft mates.
