honking araucana!

hi, i have an 11 week old lavender araucana pullet who has started to honk like a goose! she does this if something scares her, but also if she gets a treat she really likes, or sometimes just to hear herself... is this normal? i have 7 other chickens and they look at her like she just landed from outer space when she does this... none of them honk.

I have a RIR the exact same age who honks alot every evening when they're about to go inside to roost. At that age, you will hear their voices starting to change over to "Big Girl" clucking, too.

I have a honker as well, actually i have had one before. A black sexlink that the honk stuck with her her whole life, she is passed now and now a 9 week americauna pullet named hotwing, and another pullet named dahlyla also an americauna.

Well at least your girl makes a sound... My americauna i have had now for a month and a half she is 5 months old she has NEVER made a sound not one cluck nothing I think I have a mute americauna
