Iam leery of working with electrical things but when my Hovabator incubator came.I set it up and then the fan.

The few Hovabator parts needed to be installed were not too hard at all.
The fan is a little daunting because one booboo and it all may not work even the incubator. MORE CLOSE UP DETAIL INSTRUCTIONS PLEASE!!

Thought it all would come installed. and ready to go...No such luck.

WAS really afraid to attach the fan. since it needed to be hooked up electrically. Thought i might cut a wrong wire
but muddled thru..
The wires are in a jumble of black, white and blue.
Figured it out but NOT without a little assurance from a utube video explaining which fan and incubator wires and what to do since if you never have used these tiny blue clamps and have no idea what to do with them , it helps to watch

.Fan directions gave a Hovabator web address, "go to hovabator fan set up video" but every time i tried i just came out on the Hovabator home page with no video instruction to be seen.(I didnt see it anyway)
So went to good ol' UTUBE.

Sadly The UTube video isnt as close up as i wished so its still hard to see which wires they are clamping But the positive i wasnt sure until i watched it if i stripped the wires first or just clamped.
YOU DO JUST CLAMP ON WIRES ,NO stripping wires .

HELPFUL .... It did say to carefully cut the" CLEAR " plastic strap holding all the wires together so you can tell better what is what...
They are sort of twisted so you arent perfectly sure which come out of the bator plug and which go to the other things in there... ( Only thing my strap was black If you are getting a 1602N not clear asthey said)..

POSITIVE was the tiny strap just easily came apart.or mine did, no cutting involved (thank goodness as i didnt have a tool that would fit such a tiny strap)
.
After clamping....where you insert the little orange covered slot things(the fan plugs) to the blue clamp slot openings......At first my fan didnt work! (OH NO!!! Panic)

HINT....W hen clamps are all ready on the bator wires... and you slide the oj plugs into the blue clamps slots make SURE the little metal flat thing inside the orange plastic covers go INTO the blue clamps slot..
....Mine had gone UNDER the clamp slot and was visible thru the oj plastic .
They are NOT making contact that way.
Once i changed it to IN the blue clamp slot where i couldnt see it on top or bottom of the orange plastic it worked....TADA!!!
Now all is running and just needs to regulate temp and humidty.

My Suggestions to HovaBator and bator fan company .WE all arent electrically competent and some of us are not too hands on electrically either so make the wires you clamp that will go from the fan to the bator wires colored all GREEN or green tagged... then instruct;... attach green to the green with blue clamps on the fan (like computers do sometimes.) so its more simple and close up detailed instructions and SHOW the clamp and how it works CLOSE UP or Hey heres and idea..have it SET UP ALREADY before shipping

Anyway mine is cranking away now...(fingers crossed) Getting ready for the little eggs to show up
.
