Was out in my shop today, and heard this odd sound of something striking something solid. Then my pullets went nuts. They made sounds I've never heard from them before, and I knew something was after them.

Only took me a few seconds to run around the corner and see a red tail hawk laying dazed and confused about what the heck he just hit, because he definitely realized it wasn't feathers or a chicken dinner, lol. I was reaching for my phone to snap a pic, when he gained enough composure to fly off.

I don't free range do to the number of predators looking for a free meal is staggering in my area.
Took the gals 20 min before they would leave the coop.

Glad your birds are safe. Recently a Red-Tail hawk got into one of my pens and killed several birds. I didn't run to get a camera because I was horrified at all of the bodies laying around in the pen. I had a Dr appointment and errands to do so I was away for quite awhile. I did check the birds before I left and they were ok. I was gone for a few hours and when I got back the birds were going crazy so I went to investigate and that is when I discovered the hawk and dead birds. There was a breach in the netting where it probably got in through. I fixed it. A few of the bodies.

And kudus to you for taking the precautions before an incident. I am a big fan of HC. I don't free range my chickens for the same reason, too many predators looking for a free chicken dinner. I do let mine out in the yard for about an hour everyday but I'm sitting in the middle of them. Hawks and eagles fly by frequently, but they see me as well as the chickens and move on to easier game. I'm glad your girls are safe.
