I have a suro 20 that is hatching it's first hatch today. I have 24 bantam eggs and the 6 chicks so far that are in there look unhappy. I am thinking about buying a hooverbator jus for the the last 3 days. Is this a good idea? If I do how do you control the humidity? I will be hatching some lavender orphington eggs next. These are large chicks, if the bantams don't look happy I can imagine how the standards will feel. I am going to drive to Portland Oregon to pick up the eggs and they are not cheap so I don't want to ruin them.

I need help with ideas to make my decision. Would I also need to buy one of the good digital humidity read out units? There are about $15.00 on ebay.

This is my first hatch. I am not new to poultry just hatching eggs myself.

I like the ease of the suro just not the room for hatching. Even the instructions metions moving the eggs for hatching.

Any suggestions and help would be appreciated.

I do not know a thing about the suro or the hovabator so will give you a bump so maybe someone with more knowledge will be able to help.

As for humidity, in my LG there are channels for water and during lockdown I have to add some additional water wells.
