(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- I have been partnering with my best friend in her new chicken journey since July of 2021. I have been wanting them for years but couldn’t have any due to where I live.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
-We have approximately 170 chickens. A lot of them were given to us due to original own being unable to keep them.
(3) What breeds do you have?
-Golden comets, RIR, Plymouth, Wyandotte, Ameraucana, Easter eggers, Cochin bantams, silkies, possible legbar, and a few others I can’t think of at the moment.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
-They have such unique personalities! I absolutely love walking out of the house and they all come running and flapping to me for love!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
-Wildlife rehab, kayaking, snorkeling and so much more.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
-4 inside only cats, I’m a vet tech of 12 years and counting.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
-Google, and to be able to get more information as needed.
