Horrible neck injury on pullet

One of my pullets has an awful neck injury. The neck bone is exposed right beneath her head. I do know rooster did this.
The bone is exposed over an inch and flesh and skin has been pecked off. How can I treat her and with this severe injury what are her chances of recovery? Will she always be tender there?
She is in isolation, but don't know how long it will take to heal. Should I go ahead and kill her and take this as a loss? She is one of my favorites, very sweet natured and follows me around.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Where on her neck is the bone showing? Is it the back part of her skull like she has been scalped? I've dealt with scalped chickens before and by cleaning the wound, cutting away feathers that might lay across the wound and spraying it w/ vetericyn, they were able to regrow skin and join the flock. Thank you for your reply. I was beginning to think no one here was going to answer.
She is better now, but still keeping her in isolation. I just did the best I knew how which involved trimming feathers and treating with antibiotic, keeping it clean and her isolated. She won't be ready to go back with the flock for awhile longer.

I dealt with a similar injury on one of my hens but managed to get her out of the flock before they got down to the bone. I cleaned it with GermZone and water, trimmed the feathers around the edge, and gave her tetracycline in her water for three days to help prevent infection. She spent about a week and a half out of the flock and then I stuck her back in; now she's sitting on a clutch of eggs and gets along fine with the other chickens.
