Horse fly collars, do they work?

I have tried Skin-so-soft several times, for days at a time, and it has done essentially nothing for my horses (in two different geographic areas). Yes, I used "the correct" version of it, but, forget it. I may indeed work for some people, but clearly flies vary

my pastor swears by his. his little mini donkey was being hounded by loads of flies got a collar and put it on him now hes virtually fly free

You can put tassles on the fly mask to help her nose some. Fly spray does need to re applied daily. Could you hang fly traps?
Maybe listerine too just spray it full strength where they are fed.

Fly masks are just like womens clothes just cuz the say they are a large doesn't mean jack.
It;s best to try them on or find someone that has a couple that you can borrow to try on.

My dad and I have recently been putting circles of swat around our horses eyes and ears when we go on the trail. They all look like indian ponies afterwards, but it sure does keep the flies off! In the pasture we use fly sheets. THey get muddy and gross after awhile, but they are easily cleaned.
